Company Profile
The Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Quality Supervision in China has held a two-day course of training for the staff of Chinese toy making companies.
The event was organised as a result of the recent safety scares over the lead content of Chinese-made products. More than 20 million Mattel toys were recalled in the US.
Over 1,000 people attended the session, in which they were given guidance on European/US safety regulations and export requirements, and also reminded of the importance of quality control.
President Hu Jintao said that Beijing took the issue seriously, and that they would work with others to improve inspection measures. And with China being the world’s largest toy manufacturer – 22 billion products were sold abroad last year – it is certainly in the country’s interests to make fast changes.
