Peter Iving from Lightning Machining joined Qimtek in February 2010.
Having set up his own business in September of the previous year, Peter was trying to find a way to approach new potential customers to offer them his services. His credentials were good having just spent time working with the Brawn F1 team who had just become world champions!
Qimtek offered to help and advised a small business membership package. This would supply Lightning Machining with live, qualified machining enquiries from approximately 1/3 of the UK.
With his profile in the Qimtek Preferred Supplier Network, local buyers can also see what Lightning Machining can do and send direct enquiries themselves.
Within 30 days peter had secured his first contract; a prototyping job within the medical industry. If the component is successful then production should soon start.
It took only another month to secure his second contract; a larger CNC job.
