AMEC-Led ATA Consortium Celebrates Ahead-of-Schedule Completion of PCWU Topsides, Azerbaijan

London, United Kingdom (19 September 2007) - AMEC.com, the international engineering and project management company, and its partners in the AMEC-Tekfen-Azfen (ATA) consortium, today celebrated the successful completion and sail-away of the Azerbaijan International Oil Company's (AIOC) Process, Compression, Water Injection and Utilities (PCWU) topsides.

Part of the Azeri, Chirag and Gunashli field development operated by BP for the AIOC, the 12,700 tonne PCWU was completed two weeks ahead of its original schedule. It will produce oil and gas from the deepwater Gunashli field, located in 175 metres of water in the Caspian Sea, approximately 120 kilometres from the coast of Azerbaijan.

The PCWU project began in mid-2005 following the successful completion of the Compression and Water Injection topsides for the Central Azeri field.

Not only have all the schedule milestones been beaten on PCWU, but the project has also achieved an outstanding safety record, with more than 7.4 million man-hours being worked without a Day Away From Work Case.
