Nylacast Awarded the Golden Heart

Nylacast proudly receive the Golden Heart Award for the team’s contribution to the development and delivery of Leicestershire Cares’ Employability Project over the last two years.

Ian Mallabone, Group HR & Training Manager, has been working with the Education Team at Leicestershire Cares and individuals from other local organisations for over 18 months, developing a structured session around the topic of employability to be delivered at Beaumont Leys School.

On Tuesday 6th November the successful session was completed by Ian Mallabone and the Nyalcast Team, Stewart Smith, Milling Supervisor, Richard Evans, Milling Team Leader, Ben Diegnan, Lewis Noble, Abdur Limalia, Jack Nurse, Calvin Bayley and Dale Bartram (Ex-Beaumont Leys Pupil). The pilot project's morning session involved over 100 Year 10 students participating in problem solving activities in order to enhance their employability skills.

The Nylacast Team stayed to discuss the Engineering Apprenticeship program at Nylacast with some Year 11 students after the event. Following the positive feedback, Nylacast hope to take on some more excellent students from Beaumont Leys School for its Apprenticeship intake during July 2014.

Ian Mallabone commented, “We are delighted to have been presented the Golden Heart award by Leicestershire Cares. The success of the Employability Pilot Project is a huge success for the Education Team at Leicestershire Cares and this award is a credit to all the Nylacast team who have worked with Leicestershire Cares on the Employability Project, Coat Drive, Collect4Christmas and Number Partners. ”
