The original specification for this product dating back to 1971 called for polypropylene, but indicated that alternative materials may be approved. Presently, no particular material is mandated and contractors should select a material with due regard to the requirements of TR1100 in respect of:

· design life

· operational environmental requirements (eg temperature/UV stability, tolerance of vibration etc)

· environmental impact considerations

· health and safety considerations.



If the query in any way relates to note 2, this particular reference is to section Y-Y of the drawing and in particular the ‘pin’ and refers to the nylon (or other approved) material for the pins.
