You will appreciate that the corrugation would allow a gas or a liquid to pass through. The gap is very important and the size (or height) must be very tightly controlled. Our finished equipment depends on 3 sizes of corrugation – call it small, medium and large gaps, where large would be 0.9mm and small would be 0.2mm. The smallest finished spool diameter would be approx 100mm and the largest could be 600mm or more. A band needs to be added at the end of the winding process, so that the spool does not undo.
Such a spool could be used as a filter maybe.
