Apprentices quiz MPs on skills support

The visit was designed to highlight the need for continued investment in generating the talent of the future

Manufacturing apprentices from the West Midland's have travelled to Westminster to quiz a number of politicians on the skills gap and the importance of vocational learning.

In-Comm Training, which operates training academies in Aldridge and Shrewsbury, arranged the visit for the 25 apprentices and 20 of their employers to debate the subject with Business Minister, Margot James, the hosting MP, Wendy Morton, and fellow MPs Amanda Milling and Daniel Kawczynski.

ITL Group has partnered up with King’s College London (KCL) to develop a ground-breaking cancer imaging project

Innovative medical device contractor, ITL Group, has partnered with King’s College London (KCL) to develop a ground-breaking cancer imaging project using 3D printing.

The project, funded by the EU Horizon 2020 scheme, brings together a consortium of 20 companies, including technology giants Phillips and Siemens, to take developments in engineering and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and use them to provide a non-invasive way to diagnose and measure cancer tumours.

WEC Group’s in-house Training Academy offers traditional five year apprenticeships

Engineering and fabrication specialist, WEC Group Ltd, has signed a deal to become the main sponsor of Blackburn Rovers FC social media for the rest of the season as a way of promoting its engineering apprenticeships.

The Lancashire-based Group, which has additional facilities in Yorkshire, Merseyside, Lanarkshire and the West Midlands, has a long-standing association with the club having sponsored the Darwen End stand from 2008 until 2012.
