Column level indicators from Elesa - a positive aid to health and safety

Elesa column level indicators play an important role in checking the health of equipment and so ensuring the health and safety of its operators. Whether they are used for fuel oil, hydraulic oil, water reservoirs, coolant tanks or other fluids, a simple visual level indication provides a warning or more hopefully peace of mind.

The HCX range of column level indicators offer simple visual indication, impact protection, alarm facility, magnification and/or remote readout for concealed installations.

In addition to visual readout of fluid level, the HCX/E features AC/DC electronic signal generation when the oil level drops to a minimum. This is achieved by a black polyamide expanded technopolymer float with a built-in magnetic element, which activates the (normally open) contacts (normally closed also available), when the level crosses its alarm threshold.

The HCX/P column level variants are additionally protected by being housed in a zinc alloy protective shroud with viewing window for use in areas where mechanical damage is more likely. All shocks are absorbed by the protective metal casing that transmits them directly onto the wall of the machine, since the indicator is suspended between rubber O-rings. During breaking strength tests performed in the laboratory, the indicator plus the protection withstood shocks up to 35 J.

Column level indicators now include the HCZ lens effect units at especially competitive prices for oil/fluid tank fitment, with the HCZ/T which also incorporates an integral thermometer to monitor the working range - maximum 90oC. Two sizes are available - 76mm and 127mm mounting centres. Further information on Elesa (UK) Ltd products may be found at: www.elesa.co.uk
