February Fabrication Project Round Up:

  • across a variety of industries such as Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Medical
  • These buyers have a combined fabrication spend of £10.1M
  • and a combined total outsourcing spend £20.9M
     

In 2016 we produced 76 fabrication projects from 58 different UK buyers. This sees projects down 19% and the number of buyers using Qimtek down 12% in a direct, year on year comparison. This is not an unexpected decrease in figures, however, as Qimtek have seen a decline in outsourced fabrication services over the last few years. The Qimtek contract manufacturing index tells us that in 2015, 48% of the entire subcontract market was for fabrication, which decreased further in 2016 down to just 41%.
