It is always satisfying to receive positive feedback, however the feedback Rilmac Fabrication received from British Sugar was particularly sweet. The maintenance team at British Sugar’s Wissington Factory had been having trouble accessing the vital centrifuges safely and were looking for a safer solution. The team at Rilmac Fabrication, channelling the group safety motto “Think Safety, Work Safely” developed a simple solution which makes access for maintenance easier and safer.
The final product is a galvanised steel platform, with steps and a safety handrail. The platform has wheels, with brakes attached, to allow for easy manoeuvrability between centrifuges. There is also a neat semi-circular segment removed, which allows for the platform to be positioned as close as possible to the centrifuge. The platform was also manufactured to allow for access to left and right handed machinery.
Having delivered the finished platform to the Wissington site, British Sugar offered the following feedback: “Thank you for getting the platform made up, it is awesome! And thank you very much for your support with this, it is going to make Cent maintenance much safer.”
Rilmac Fabrication Director, Terry Cutter said, “It is always great to receive positive feedback, and when we have been able to make such as difference, as with safety issues at British Sugar, it is better still.”
“It was a challenge we were happy to meet,” said Trevor Clarke, “and turned out a ‘sweet’ result as well!”
