‘We’ve developed relationships with buyers who have gone on to use us directly."

Blackhill Engineering is a specialist fabrication and machining subcontractor based in the southwest of England. They have an impressive portfolio of customers spread across multiple sectors, including rail, marine, defence, renewables and nuclear – in fact, owing to their unique 50-tonne lifting capabilities, Blackhill Engineering is an established part of the Hinkley Point C supply chain.

After winning a year-long membership at Subcon’s 2017 exhibition, Blackhill Engineering ‘have relished in the range of opportunities and industries they were able to access’ via Qimtek.

‘We’ve had mixed results when quoting on RFQs, but have successfully secured work,’ said Dan Baker, Business Development Manager. ‘We’ve been able to develop relationships with buyers found via Qimtek, who have gone on to use us directly.
‘Going forward, we are keen to continue developing these relationships.’

Alongside Qimtek, Blackhill Engineering forms part of an eight-company stronghold representing UK manufacturing at this year’s Subcon exhibition. ‘For us, trade shows are a highly successful route to securing new clients,’ explained Dan.

When asked if he would recommend Qimtek to others, Dan did not hesitate in saying ‘yes’.
