Electron Beam Melting - or EBM as it is commonly called - is an additive manufacturing process that focuses on the welding of metal powder or wire. The electronic beam, from where the process gets its name, produces heat which in turn welds the material in accordance with the design. In order to generate the required heat, EBM systems are usually high-powered. Electron beam melting has proven extremely useful to a wide variety of sectors and is commonly used for automotive and aerospace applications. Additionally, the medical and orthodontic industries also favour EBM for the production of metal parts
