Stamping is a way to mass-produce components using presses.
Stamping is characterized by a press machine that uses a special-made tool and die. That means the tools are unique for every type of component and consists of an upper part (the tool) and a lower part (the die). When the press presses these two against each other with the piece of material in between, it shapes the component. Stamping either takes away a piece of material or forms (draws) a component similar to the shape of the tools. This can be performed in one or several steps.
As the tools are custom made for each type of component stamping is most suitable for mass production.
Post project to suppliers with Stamping capabilities
This company has an annual spend of over £1million on a large variety of outsourced fabrication work and is looking for quotes for these new designs of aluminium mounting tray, which will be used within the aerospace industry. Quotes are required for 600 and 800 off per year. Pricing and quality are of the utmost importance for this enquiry, which will lead to repeatable work.
This client is looking for a supplier to fabricate the attached dimpled shims in two sizes, which are to be used within the automotive industry. These are new designs, for which a supplier has not yet been allocated. Tooling is also required for this enquiry, with potential for repeat orders next year in addition to the initial project.
This electronics company, who manufacture lithium ion batteries and outsource around £300,000 of fabrication work annually, requires the assistance of suppliers who can assist with the cutting and stamping of the attached aluminium sheets at the start of 2019. Quotes are sought in different material thicknesses and the client is ideally looking to make their supply chain more efficient. Therefore, they would like to hear from suppliers who are able to improve on current production efforts.
