Our reputation as world-renowned Land Rover performance specialists started in 1975 …

We opened our first workshop in 1975, just up the road from Land Rover in Coventry. It wasn’t long before we received international acclaim within the industry for developing the iconic Rover V8 engine from its original 3.5 litres to 3.9, 4.2 and larger sizes. The 4.2 was such a masterpiece of engineering that Land Rover acquired the rights to manufacture it. This was a real turning point.

We developed special Dakar Rally Rover V8 engines for the Works Range Rover team and later the Bowler Wildcats. Both were used for many years … and never experienced a single engine failure.

It was because of this close relationship that we’ve specialised in Land Rover ever since. After our early success of building and tuning engines, we were naturally looking for new challenges and decided to test our knowledge and expertise in the treacherous Dakar Rally – the most demanding off-road competition in the world.

In 1985 we built a special competition Rover V8 engine for the Land Rover Works Team Paris Dakar entries. Our engine was used successfully for years in the Range Rovers and later in Bowler Wildcats, and remarkably, despite the Dakar’s infamous reputation, we never experienced a single engine failure. And we’ve never stopped innovating since.

The Zulu is more than just a Land Rover. It’s a truly modern feat of engineering – we literally replace everything that rotates.

Fast forward 30 years and we’re still leading the field in understated performance for Land Rovers. In 2008 we launched the first ever Super Defender – the original Zulu, with over 450bhp. Many companies have tried to replicate the Zulu but we’re the only ones to provide all that power and performance while retaining the Defender’s world-renowned four wheel drive system.

After all what’s the point in having a Land Rover if it’s not proper 4WD?

We are known in the industry for our knowledge, experience, precision engineering and attention to detail. But it’s not just our engineering ability that sets us apart; very few people can put vehicles together the way we do.

Our customers are the ones who appreciate that difference.
