The Championships took place at the end of July, with 71 teams from 18 European countries in the running.
The Women’s GB Rafting Team sent two teams; GBR1 and GBR2 in the Open Women’s category and came out with the best results they have ever had. Competing in a number of events including slaloms and sprints, GBR rafting proudly returned home with 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
Bryony Devoy, one of the Team Captains commented, “We are incredibly proud to have achieved our best ever results in a European competition! The whole squad have worked so hard and it has paid off massively with both teams coming home with medals. We won’t be resting for long though, as we have the World Championships in Brazil coming up this October. After our performance against some of the strongest European countries, we are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in Brazil”.
