Services

State-of-the-art machine shop

Vision Engineering Manufacturing Services’ UK  and USA machine shop houses an extensive, modern milling, turning and grinding capability (both CNC and manual), supported by state-of-the-art quality control facilities.

Additionally, a substantial tool room with skilled toolmakers provides prototyping and short run/small batch parts.

Manual machining

A full complement of lathes and mills including XYZ, ProtoTRAK software and Okamoto grinder, are ideal for producing one-off parts and reverse engineering.

Paint Shop

In the UK, a multi-purpose paint shop facility provides refinishing for a wide variety of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals and a variety of plastics. Paint processes include wet spray systems and powder-coating of any desired coating and colour.

Preparation processes include sandblasting, deburring, fettling, aqueous and solvent degreasing, with masking solutions to suit all job requirements

Additive Manufacturing Capability

With recent advancements in 3D printing technology, rapid printing of bespoke fixtures and end-use parts are essential in modern manufacturing processes. Vision Engineering has several best-in-class 3D printers to offer a variety of capabilities in terms of throughput, part size and material. Bespoke tooling can be created for any process, usually within 24 hours of inception. Should there be any need to fine-tune or amend the design, iterative versions can be rapidly created and tested.

Kitamura

Included in our UK facility, our latest acquisition: a Kitamura 4-axis, 50 tool, 2 pallet horizontal machining centre for fast and accurate milling of simple to complex parts. Complex parts produced in a single operation using multiple setups with multiple datum, enabling fast, accurate and consistent 5-axis parts manufacture.

Mazak Hyper Quadrex

Designed for high volume productivity, HYPER QUADREX machine configuration directly results in part-processing versatility, and reduced cycle times among various operations – ranging from chuck work to the machining of large diameter bar stock. Advanced automation options enable unattended, continuous operation, and the addition of a bespoke parts catcher supports lights out 24/7 operation for small component manufacture.

Citizen M20 & M30

These lathes are suitable for large batches of complex threaded parts and longer run operation.
