  1. Drawings count: 1

    Fabrication-Light Fabrication (under a tonne)

This company is looking for the manufacture of an oil cooler, using copper pipe and cold rolled steel plate. This will be used as a cooling element for a gearbox within industrial machinery. This project incorporates elements of tube/pipe bending, laser cutting and drilling, with quotes required for 1 off. This is a legacy part that is needed on a one-off basis, making it an ideal opportunity to fill short-term capacity.

  2. Drawings count: 1

    Machining-Turning, Low Volume

This company is looking for a new supplier to make the attached stainless steel tubes, which will become cell holders for use within industrial machinery. This is usually done in-house but due to being over capacity, the client is now looking to outsource this work going forward. Accuracy and quality is very important; the client has confirmed the ID and OD measurements given need to be exact, with no sharp edges or surface scratches visible on the end products. Quotes are sought for 25 off at this time, with similar volumes required on an annual basis.

  3. Drawings count: 1

    Machining-Turning, Low Volume

This company is looking for a supplier to make the attached copper cylinder heads, which will be used within industrial machinery. Quotes are required for 2 off at this time. The client has confirmed that an early quote will secure a better chance of success, due to the urgent nature of this enquiry. The client is happy to accept quotes for complete supply and/or free-issue copper material - please confirm this within your quotation. Because of the urgency of the quotation period, should a suitable quote come in quickly, this enquiry will be awarded early.

  4. Drawings count: 4

Sheet Metal Forming-General Sheet Metal (2mm to 6mm)

This Qimtek member is looking for a supplier to make the attached plates from mild steel, with quotes required for 200 off of each. The successful supplier can expect to receive repeat orders of the same quantity on a quarterly basis. Quality and good value are both the most important considerations within this enquiry and once a relationship has been established, further projects could be made available in addition to this ongoing requirement.

  5. Drawings count: 1

    Profiling-Plasma Cutting

This new client is looking for a supplier to profile UK maps from fine limit sheet metal, ranging from 0.5mm to 1mm thick, which will be finished in-house and used to create personalised gifts on sale to the general public. Pricing is vitally important, and the client is very happy to work with the chosen supplier to discuss the most suitable process to use, whether that's plasma or water jet cutting or another process; the best material to use, as well as the material thickness to get the best result. An initial order will be placed for 1 off, with a view to placing an order of approximately 30 off once the initial sample has been tested, with more orders to be placed on an ongoing basis should the end product sell well.

  6. Drawings count: 1

    Machining-Turning, Medium Volume

This company has a requirement for 150 off aluminium inserts, which are to be made using turning, drilling and chamfering processes. The client has advised that the material specification and finishing requirements are critical and they cannot accept any alternatives. A high-quality end product is important, along with pricing and reliable delivery. The timescales for delivery can either be for all 150 off, or a part order of 50 off with the balance to follow shortly afterwards. Because this company's own machine shop is over-capacity, they are now looking to outsource this part, which will lead to annual volumes of 150 off once a relationship has been established.

  7. Drawings count: 1

    Fabrication-Light Fabrication (under a tonne)

Destined for end use within the automotive industry, these locking pins are to be made from mild steel, on behalf of a company that spends over £45,000 per year on bespoke fabricated designs. Quotes are required for annual volumes of between 4000 off and 16,000 off depending on the size of pin. Due to the large quantities involved, the client has advised that a KAN-BAN solution would be advantageous, but not essential. Please advise within your quotation. The client is ideally looking to place a blanket order and call off quantities when required, but is happy to discuss alternatives. This enquiry is a fantastic opportunity to fill long-term capacity with a new client.

  8. Drawings count: 3

    Machining-Machining, High Precision

With an annual spend of over £30,000 on subcontract machining, this company seeks a new supplier to manufacture these parts, leading to regular orders of these and similar designs going forward. For this initial enquiry, they are looking for 2 sets of 4 off (8 off in total) high precision machined jaws, and 1 off mount scroll, complete with 176 teeth, which will also suit members with high precision gear cutting capabilities. The client is outsourcing this work as a result of a change in business strategy. Accuracy of tolerances, quality and value of all these parts is critical, and once a new supplier is found, this will lead to regular, repeat orders for these sizes and for different sizes as well, therefore it will make an ideal opportunity for those seeking a new client for a long-term relationship.

  9. Drawings count: 2

    Fabrication-General Fabrication (over 1 tonne)

This growing manufacturer of steam locomotives are currently over-capacity and are looking for a new supplier to assist with the manufacture of 2 off full-size water tanks. The tank capacities are 4600 gallons of water and 9 tonnes of coal and are to be formed of mild steel sheet metal in 6mm and 10mm thicknesses (or imperial measurement equivalents). The client has provided two options, and has no particular preference when choosing a supplier: 1) provide all the profiled parts unassembled for the client to construct the tanks themselves, or 2) profile all the parts and then assemble before delivery. The sketch drawings are for the 4600 gallon tank parts which is a slight modification to the original 4000 gallon tank design. The assembly drawing is for the original 4000 gallon capacity tank. The increase of 600 gallons capacity is provided by the provision of two additional sumps to the underside of the tank. No leak testing is required if assembly is completed, because additional parts will be added to the tanks by the client before leak tests are performed at a later stage. Due to the nature of these tanks, quality is paramount regardless of which of the two options is undertaken. There is an immediate order to place with other work available once a relationship is established.

  10. Drawings count: 5

    Casting-Sand Casting

This company would like to hear from companies who can cast the attached bearing housings and covers which are to be used within industrial machinery in the paper, pulp and energy industry. Parts are to be cast from Ductile iron and grey cast iron in quantities of 4 off housings and 2 off each of the covers. Good value pricing is of most importance for these parts. This is a one-off requirement at this time but could lead to similar work in future.

  11. Drawings count: 5

    Machining-CNC Machining, Low Volume

Outsourcing an impressive £250,000 of machining work every year, this company seeks quotes to machine these bearing housings from solid Ductile Iron and Grey Cast Iron. Quotes are required for 2 off and 4 off as indicated, with good value pricing being of particular importance for this enquiry. This will be a one-off requirement at this time due to an in-house machine repair, but could lead to similar work in future.

  12. Drawings count: 1

    Profiling-Laser Cutting

This new Qimtek client is looking for quotes to profile 600 off individual asset tags, all individually laser cut with numbers from 001 to 600. The drawing provided shows an example font, but this font or something similar would be required. Sizing of the numbers is not vitally important as long as they are large enough to be clear. The size and thickness of the asset tags is approximate at this stage and may be altered slightly before the order is placed. The client is looking for best price and lead times before they can proceed with progressing to an order.

  13. Drawings count: 2

    Machining-Turning, Medium Volume

This client is looking for a new supplier to machine the attached blank inserts, which will be used within industrial machinery. An order is ready to be placed for 100 off and 120 off as directed within this enquiry, ideally to be placed on Friday 17th May if possible. This is an initial order with a view to placing much larger volumes of the same parts once full production is confirmed, making it a fantastic opportunity for those seeking long-term work.

  14. Drawings count: 1

    Machining-Machining, Large 1m Plus

This client is looking for quotations for 1000, 2000 and 4000 off core cleaning brushes, which will be used within industrial printing machinery. Quality and accuracy to the drawings is key, as is the price. When the quotation period is over and an order is ready to place, the lead time for the initial samples is required to be 4-6 weeks from date of order, to allow enough time for the quality and accuracy to be checked before the main bulk of the requirement is ordered. This is a redesign and therefore, the finished product may differ slightly when the client is ready to move forward.

  15. Drawings count: 1

    Fabrication-Fabrication with Machining

Suppliers that have the capabilities to machine and fabricate mixing console chassis are sought, on behalf of a company that outsources £500,000 worth of fabrication and machining work each year. These items are destined for end use within communication equipment and the client is looking to increase their supplier base for the parts in question. With a focus on quality and delivery, it is imperative that interested parties are able to offer a reliable and consistent service; in turn, they will be awarded repeat work by the client, as well as the opportunity to assist with the manufacture of additional components on their behalf. The buyer is looking for quotes based on 50 units a year, to be supplied in one drop or potentially two drops. All parts are to be supplied flat packed - no assembly is needed.

  16. Drawings count: 3

    Machining-Machining, Large 1m Plus

With an annual machining outsource spend of over £1million, this client is looking for a supplier to make the attached ticket rails as a set of two different-sized rods, with different quantities required per set. This project incorporates elements of turning, drilling and tapping, with quotes required for 200 sets of rods which will be sent to different sites. The ideal supplier will be able to produce these parts economically and provide a high-quality end product - once a relationship has been established, further projects could be made available in addition to this initial requirement. Initial samples of the two different rods will be required within 2-3 weeks of request, before the main order is placed to cover the 200 sets. These can be split into smaller batches to suit the chosen supplier.

  17. Drawings count: 3

Electronic / Electrical-PCB Assembly, Surface Mount

This new Qimtek client is looking for a suppler to manufacture 1 off PCB board as shown in the photographs provided. However, this is to be a non-working demonstration prop, so only needs to look like the photo - no testing is required. Those that are interested in being considered for this job are asked to make contact with the buyer directly to discuss; in addition, this could result in further opportunities in future once quality and reliability have been proven. Because of the urgent nature of this enquiry, if a suitable quote is found quickly, the work will be awarded early.

  18. Drawings count: 4

    Machining-CNC Machining, Low Volume

This client has an immediate order to place for the attached adaptors, plates and blocks which will be used together within an industrial machine. This project incorporates elements of turning and milling, with the components in question to be made from mild steel, copper and brass. Quotes are required for between 2 and 20 off of each part as shown in the batch sizes. The ideal supplier will be able to produce these parts economically, and offer reliable delivery of the first samples of 2 off each part and 4 off adaptors as quickly as possible, in order to be tested before full production takes place. During main production, regular orders of 10 off parts and 20 off adaptors will be placed on an ongoing basis. Once a relationship has been established, further projects could be made available in addition to this initial requirement.

This project incorporates elements of turning and milling and also requires some parts to be made from plastic and others from metal, with quotes required for between 2 and 20 off each part as shown in the batch sizes. The ideal supplier will be able to produce these parts economically and offer reliable delivery of the first samples of 2 off each part and 4 off adaptors as quickly as possible, in order to be tested before full production takes place. During main production, regular orders of 10 off parts and 20 off adaptors will be placed on an ongoing basis. Once a relationship has been established, further projects could be made available in addition to this initial requirement.

  20. Drawings count: 2

    Machining-Machining, High Precision

This client is looking for a new supplier to manufacture these concentricity gauges, which have high-precision threading requirements. Quotes are required for 2 off, with repeatable work available. Two sets of drawings have been provided, which have different ways to manufacture the same component. Qimtek members are invited to quote for both drawings, or just one drawing if both cannot be completed due to the complexity of what's required to make these gauges. Accuracy of the threading and delivery are the most important aspects of this enquiry. Please submit your best price and lead times to be considered for this opportunity.
