Statutory Inspection service

Bureau Technical Services, which provides technical services to the global energy sector, has launched a new arm of its business to offer Statutory Engineering Inspections to the City of Hull and Humber region.

Until today, organisations in the Hull area had to secure the Statutory Inspection of their equipment from outside of the area, often meaning longer wait times for support and an inconsistent service based on centralised planning, which has an impact on productivity when equipment is out of service.

Kingston-Upon-Hull is renowned as the northern hub for global manufacturing businesses and has received £40bn in investment over the last eight years, becoming the home to several international manufacturers.

All organisations using engineering equipment such as lifting or pressure-based systems must undergo the statutory inspection of their assets at regular intervals as set out by Law. This is a requirement for all businesses with multiple assets, including farms and automotive garages, to retail and manufacturing. Statutory Inspection ensures all equipment is safe and adequate documentation is held for auditing and insurance purposes.

Following their extensive experience and success in supporting clients in the global energy sector with inspection and technical services, Bureau Technical Services has invested heavily in a new division to bring these services to the local area.

David Blanchard, Managing Director of Bureau Technical Services, said, “We aim to offer a fresh approach to Statutory Inspection in this area. Following our high standards of service and existing quality accreditations, building a team of experienced engineers, and offering the ability for local organisations to manage their compliance has been met with open arms”.

The organisation has invested in a team of engineers led by Richard Wood, who brings 15 years of experience in the sector as business unit Director. Richard said, “I am delighted to have joined Bureau Technical Services and bring a new approach to compliance in the area. We pride ourselves on delivering that personal touch back to the sector. We’ve worked hard to implement the right systems, recruit the best engineers available and work with the clients who are already knocking at the door for support”.
