The Coventry-based HTA Group has successfully achieved EN 15085-2 accreditation for welding on rail vehicles as part of the company’s long term commitment to the UK and European rail sector.

The accreditation is part of a six-month review and improvement of HTA’s quality systems to ensure that its operations meet the railway industry’s international standard for consistency and high quality in fusion welding.

Wayne Wild, managing director, HTA Group, said: “We singled out the accreditation in 2016 as a strategic requirement to allow for the manufacture of safety critical items to rolling stock OEM’s and their supply chain.”

“The new accreditation will lead to HTA Group’s continued growth in the sector through developing current key accounts and additional clientele.”

He added that in addition to manufacturing, engineering and project management are at the forefront of HTA’s business in order to support its growing customer base, from a stringent APQP New Product Introduction process, PPAP and FAI, through to inventory stock holding for just in time deliveries.

Since joining forces with Lancashire-based engineering and fabrication company WEC Group in 2016, HTA now has access to a wealth of additional manufacturing services for rail industry know-how including waterjet cutting, tube cutting, CNC machining, powder coating and more.

In line with the group’s commitment to quality, HTA also recently achieved full CE Marking compliance with certification to BS EN 1090-1, up to and including Execution Class 4.

These new accreditations complement the company’s existing ISO 9001:2008 accreditation as well as various other approvals which are held from OEM customers
