Pratt & Whitney Wins US$715 Million Engine Order from Flyington Freighters Private Limited

EAST HARTFORD, Conn, Sept. 6, 2007 Flyington Freighters Private Limited has selected Pratt & Whitney PW4000-100 engines to power their fleet of new A330-200F aircraft.  The contract covers installed and spare engines for 12 firm aircraft and an exclusive long-term service agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners.  The agreement is valued at more than US$715 million.  Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

We chose the Pratt & Whitney PW4170 engines because they will provide the best value for our A330 freighter aircraft, said Captain Deepak Parasuraman, Managing Director, Flyington Freighters Private Limited.  The comprehensive engine and service agreement is the right fit to power our fleet expansion.

Flyington will be the launch operator of the Airbus A330 freighter (A330F) variant and the first to fly the PW4000-powered A330F with the AdvantageTM technology upgrade.  The AdvantageTM  technology upgrade delivers enhanced engine performance, lower fuel consumption, increased durability and reduced maintenance costs.  The aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4170 model engines with deliveries beginning in 2009.
