Covid-19: When Are the UK's Engineering Exhibitions Taking Place?

Sarah Venning
UK Engineering Exhibition

Covid-19 has altered the way that every industry conducts business in 2020 and engineering & manufacturing is no exception. There can be no denying that exhibiting forms an important part of many engineering company's new business strategies, whilst many manufacturing buyers also rely on these events to source suppliers for upcoming projects.

Unfortunately - and unavoidably - many of 2020's engineering and manufacturing exhibitions have seen cancellations and schedule changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown that followed. If you were hoping to exhibit at, or attend, one of the UK's many engineering exhibitions this year, then here are the advised dates for your calendar:

MACH:

  • Revised dates: 25th-28th January 2021.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Originally billed to take place in April 2020, shortly after the UK's lockdown took effect, MACH will now take place from the 25th to the 28th January 2021. It will be housed at its original venue, the NEC in Birmingham, and will continue to provide a focus on innovation and manufacturing technology.

Subcon:

  • Revised dates: 26th-28th January 2021.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Subcon and its colocated events, The Engineer Expo and the Manufacturing Management Show, are usually held annually in June; however, 2020's show has now been postponed and will now take place from the 26th to the 28th January 2021. This is great news for both visitors and exhibitors alike, as the MACH exhibition will be held at the same time, in the same venue. This should produce optimum footfall for exhibitors and also provide visitors with the opportunity to visit both shows on the same day.

The Manufacturing Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition:

  • Revised date: 24th November 2020.
  • Arena MK, Milton Keynes.

The Manufacturing Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition is a one-day event which hosts a range of industry speakers from key vertical markets. This event has now been moved from 1st July 2020 to the 24th November 2020 and will continue to take place at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.

TCT 3Sixty:

  • Revised dates: 29th June - 1st July 2021
  • NEC, Birmingham

TCT 3Sixty - formerly known as the TCT Show - has moved from its annual late-September slot as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, TCT 3Sixty will now take place from the 29th June to the 1st July 2021 at the NEC in Birmingham. As with previous events, the next instalment will offer a platform for the latest advancements within additive manufacturing and provide a complete showcase of everything this technology has to offer.

Northern Manufacturing:

  • Revised dates: 6th-7th October 2021
  • EventCity, Manchester.

Northern Manufacturing has cancelled its October 2020 event, instead postponing until 6th-7th October 2021 at EventCity in Manchester. As Southern Manufacturing's northern counterpart, Northern Manufacturing will deliver a regional offering, with plenty of engineering exhibitors and industry seminars.

Engineering Design Show:

  • Revised dates: 31st March - 1st April 2021.
  • Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

The Engineering Design Show will now take place from 31st March until 1st April 2021 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. As the only UK show dedicated to the engineering, electronic and embedded design niche, this show is frequented by plenty of buyers who have purchasing and sourcing in mind. The show organisers are sure that the new dates will secure a better experience for both the exhibitors and visitors attending this event.

Advanced Engineering:

  • Has retained original dates of 4th-5th November 2020.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Advanced Engineering is one of the biggest engineering & manufacturing shows in the UK and thus far, it is one of the only events to retain its originally-billed dates in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time of writing, this event will continue to take place from the 4th to the 5th of November 2020 at the NEC in Birmingham; however, this may be revised closer to the time depending on any developments within the next few months.

Southern Manufacturing:

  • 2021's show has moved to 20th-22nd April 2021.
  • Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, Farnborough.

Although 2020's edition of Southern Manufacturing went ahead successfully before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold of the UK, the organisers of this large regional show have decided to postpone 2021's event until 20th-22nd April. This is to accommodate the large number of engineering and manufacturing exhibitions which have been rescheduled into the first few months of 2021 as a result of the current health climate.
