Covid-19 has altered the way that every industry conducts business in 2020 and engineering & manufacturing is no exception. There can be no denying that exhibiting forms an important part of many engineering company's new business strategies, whilst many manufacturing buyers also rely on these events to source suppliers for upcoming projects.

Unfortunately - and unavoidably - many of 2020's engineering and manufacturing exhibitions have seen cancellations and schedule changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown that followed. If you were hoping to exhibit at, or attend, one of the UK's many engineering exhibitions this year, then here are the advised dates for your calendar:

MACH:

  • Revised dates: 25th-28th January 2021.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Originally billed to take place in April 2020, shortly after the UK's lockdown took effect, MACH will now take place from the 25th to the 28th January 2021. It will be housed at its original venue, the NEC in Birmingham, and will continue to provide a focus on innovation and manufacturing technology.

Subcon:

  • Revised dates: 26th-28th January 2021.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Subcon and its colocated events, The Engineer Expo and the Manufacturing Management Show, are usually held annually in June; however, 2020's show has now been postponed and will now take place from the 26th to the 28th January 2021. This is great news for both visitors and exhibitors alike, as the MACH exhibition will be held at the same time, in the same venue. This should produce optimum footfall for exhibitors and also provide visitors with the opportunity to visit both shows on the same day.

Advanced Engineering:

  • Has retained original dates of 4th-5th November 2020.
  • NEC, Birmingham.

Advanced Engineering is one of the biggest engineering & manufacturing shows in the UK and thus far, it is one of the only events to retain its originally-billed dates in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. Southern Manufacturing:

  • 2021's show has moved to 20th-22nd April 2021.
  • Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, Farnborough.

Although 2020's edition of Southern Manufacturing went ahead successfully before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold of the UK, the organisers of this large regional show have decided to postpone 2021's event until 20th-22nd April. This is to accommodate the large number of engineering and manufacturing exhibitions which have been rescheduled into the first few months of 2021 as a result of the current health climate.
