Qimtek helps UK subcontract engineering companies win new customers by connecting them directly with manufacturing buyers who have real projects to quote. As a Supplier Member, you receive relevant engineering enquiries complete with drawings and buyer contact details. There is no commission, no obligation to quote, and no restriction on keeping customers you win.
How do you generate engineering projects?
Manufacturing buyers send Qimtek their technical drawings and project details when they need subcontract engineering support.
We also have a dedicated sourcing team that actively builds relationships with new buyers across UK manufacturing, ensuring a consistent flow of fresh enquiries into the network.
Projects are only sent to Supplier Members with the relevant processes and regional coverage.
How many suppliers quote each project?
Most projects receive between 2 and 5 quotes.
This depends on the process, location and current supplier capacity. You will not be competing against the full membership for every project.
How long is the supplier membership?
Supplier Membership is for a minimum of twelve months.
After this initial term, the membership moves to a rolling 30-day agreement.
What happens if I win a job?
Any customer you win through Qimtek is yours to keep.
Many buyers start with smaller jobs before placing larger or repeat orders directly. The aim is long-term customer relationships, not one-off work.
Can I keep customers if I leave Qimtek?
Yes.
Any customers you win during your membership remain yours, even if you decide not to renew.
Do you offer any guarantees?
We guarantee a steady stream of relevant engineering enquiries with drawings and buyer contact details.
We cannot guarantee wins, as this depends on how often and how competitively you quote. Our account managers can offer guidance to help improve your chances.
How many supplier members are there?
Qimtek operates a membership of around 200 UK-based suppliers.
Members specialise in different processes, materials, approvals and regions, which helps avoid overcrowding and excessive competition.
Do I pay commission on work I win?
No.
You pay a flat monthly membership fee only. There is no commission on jobs won.
How many projects will I receive?
This depends on your processes and geographical coverage. Typical averages are:
- Local membership: around 20 projects per month
- Regional membership: around 40 projects per month
- National membership: around 60 projects per month
We can provide a tailored estimate using historical project data based on your capabilities.
Can I speak directly to buyers?
Yes.
We actively encourage suppliers to call buyers before quoting. This helps build rapport, clarify requirements and assess whether the opportunity is right for your business.
Why is the initial membership twelve months?
Winning new customers takes time.
Buyers rarely award their largest contracts straight away. A twelve-month period allows time to quote multiple projects, build relationships and secure repeat work.
What happens after the first twelve months?
Your membership automatically switches to a rolling 30-day contract, which you can cancel at any time with notice.
Can I visit buyers or invite them to our facility?
Yes.
We encourage site visits and face-to-face meetings, as these often help secure long-term working relationships.
How many people can access the account?
There is no limit.
You can create logins for estimators, managers, sales staff and directors as needed.
What support do I receive?
All Supplier Members receive ongoing support.
You will have two account managers: one focused on account support and sales advice, and another responsible for generating projects in your region.
How much does Supplier Membership cost?
Pricing depends on your manufacturing processes and geographical coverage.

Who builds our supplier profile?
Each Supplier Member builds their own Preferred Supplier Profile.
Your profile can include company information, photos and videos and appears prominently within the Supplier Network. Support is available if needed.
How quickly can we start quoting projects?
Immediately.
Once you join and finialised the onboarding process, you can start quoting straight away. Any live enquiries that match your capabilities are added to your account on the same day.
How do we pay?
Once your membership starts, you have up to 14 days to make your first payment.
Fees are collected by Direct Debit. Annual payment options are also available on request.
Can overseas suppliers join?
No. Qimtek only works with UK-based subcontract engineering suppliers.
