CTPE have just invested in the latest technology with the purchase of another Brother Speedio machining centre, this time with the addition of a 5 axis capability. After the sucess of our first Brother machine tool installation in August 2016 we decided that now was the time to invest in another machine this time with a Nikken 5 axis table. The 30 taper Brother machines have proved to be a fantastic investment for ourselves. They offer unbeatable productivity on small to medium sized aluminium and plastic components and are ideally suited to the work that we regularly undertake. The rapids, acceleration, tool change time and processing speed of the Brother machines are amoung the highest of any machine currently avalible. The machines help keep our cycle times to an absolute minimum which in turn reduces the lead time on components for our customers.
Choosing to go down the 5 axis route this time will enable us to produce components that would traditionaly require multiple setups (to machine each face of a part) in one operation. Not only will this reduce lead times but also increase accuracy as the amount of handling and re clamping of the component is gratley reduced.
