Convert is celebrating 20 years of manufacturing bespoke cable looms and wiring harness for automotive, marine and medical devices.
In recognition of this milestone, the company has streamlined its production, bringing two assembly areas together under one roof, launched a new strategy to support a wider range of UK industries and unveiled a refreshed brand identity.
The team can produce cables as small as 0.05mm2 with full process monitoring. The company customizes manufacturing processes for each cable harness, using a range of production and testing equipment to ensure exceptional service from quotation and process design to production and delivery.
Its focus on building strong customer relationships drives continuous improvements to meet evolving demands. Convert operates across a wide range of industries, including automotive, marine, medical and scientific equipment, and industrial.
The expertise in manufacturing bespoke cable harnesses allows it to meet the unique needs of each industry, ensuring high-quality, reliable solutions tailored to the specific requirements of its customers. Convert will recertify this year IATF and ISO and continue to adhere to the IPC 620 standard for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
The company also places great importance on training the next generation by developing apprentices. Josh Boakes, who started at Convert as an apprentice, has worked his way up through the ranks and was named Apprentice of the Year by Electronics Weekly, a testament to the company’s commitment to skill development and career progression. Josh now runs the Operations and Quality department.
It also has more people taking on more responsibility in other areas such as Myles Mendum who will take on Production Team Leader role and Robbie Holden who joined Convert recently and is working his way through Team Leader training.
