Neida Products (Engineering) Ltd has achieved the new IATF16949:2016 automotive accreditation.
Neida is a contract manufacturer of precision turned and milled components employing 106 people at its two manufacturing facilities and dedicated warehouse.
The International Automotive Task Force 16949:2016 (IATF16949:2016) accreditation at its Isle of Wight manufacturing base is a newly revised accreditation that will cancel and replace the current TS16949 certification, which the IOW plant has held since 2004 .
Simon Fisher, general manager of the site, said “We are pleased to announce that we have been approved for registration to the new IATF standard. The goal for IATF16949:2016 is to emphasize defect prevention, provide continuous improvement and reduce waste and disparity in the supply chain.
“Our transition gap analysis and the amendments to the procedures manual was highly praised by the auditor and has made our processes much more efficient. I would like to thank everyone for their support and hard work in achieving his registration, in particularly our quality department whose work to bring the procedures and systems into line with the new standard have not gone unnoticed.”
The transition to IATF has coincided with a recent £2,000,000 of investment in new technology, which Neida believes will help to further boost its increasing business with the automotive sector.
Neida has also recently renewed the quality management system at its head office in Stoke-on-Trent which, as of April this year, now conforms to ISO9001:2015.
David Brown, Commercial Director of Neida, said "The new IATF standard provides guidance for companies who want to ensure that their business and products meet their customers' demands. This combined with our recent re-accreditation to ISO9001:2015 at our Head Office will give our customers confidence that Neida can satisfy their quality requirements, regardless of complexity".
With over 100 machines, Neida produce over 250,000,000 components per year from 0.3mm-250mm diameter in ferrous, non-ferrous and exotic materials, with production batch sizes varying from 10’s off through to millions.
Neida have seen significant growth within the past 5 years at 10-15% per year, with a turnover in excess of £16,000,000 forecasted for 20108/2019. This growth has come following recent investment in new technologies and process improvements in addition to the acquisition of CM Precision Ltd in 2016.
