European Circuits has become the chosen manufacturer of Aston Microphone’s new award-winning Starlight microphone.

The entire microphone including all of the electronics and mechanical sub-assemblies is being produced at European Circuits’ Glasgow based facility.

Sean Karpowicz, director, of product development, Aston, said: “From the very beginning we have been delighted with how helpful and attentive European Circuits has been to our every need.”

“They get on with things and we greatly appreciate the fact that If there is a benefit to changing the manufacturing process slightly they will tell us and we will adapt accordingly. We can only build this product if we gain the correct supplier efficiencies and that is certainly the case with European Circuits.”

The Aston Starlight is apparently the first ever laser targeting pencil microphone which allows for recall of mic position in studio use, which makes it quick and easy to set up in live applications.

It also features quality build qualities including a signature sintered head and Aston’s, now famous, tumbled 100% stainless steel chassis.

The mic also has a 20mm cardioid capsule, hand-picked by a panel of more than 50 top producers in double blind listening tests conducted during 2016.

European Circuits has been working closely with the Aston designers to maximise the design for manufacture (DFM) impact of the microphone.

The company offers PCB manufacture, PCB assembly, test, box build and design, one of the few companies that can provide this type of integrated service in the UK.
