The BTMA (British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association) has appointed Peter Hobbs as Director.

Peter has been involved with the BTMA for many years as a Technical Member and has recently completed a two-year term as the BTMA’s Technical Officer.

Prior to taking up his new position Peter had worked for nearly 30 years in the supply of materials to the turned and machined parts industry.

Speaking on his appointment Peter said: “I’m very much looking forward to taking on the role and moving it forward to modernise the BTMA.

“I want to help deliver the benefits of being part of the BTMA to our members, communicate them to potential members, increase our membership and put us on the map as an association that is recognised in the industry and that people want to work with.

“During these challenging times we also want to support members with the information they need on the Covid-19 situation to make sure we are all here on the other side and hopefully stronger for the future.”

BTMA President Nick Groom said: “We are very pleased to have recruited Peter for this crucial role. He is well known in the industry and is well-qualified to help drive the future growth and development of the BTMA.”
