CASTcon programme announced

The programme for CASTcon 2020 is now available and features a full range of industry relevant topics.

The event, which is taking place at Cranfield University on the 7th and 8th of April, includes a good range of presentations from the industry, and features a number of practical case studies. In addition, there are a number of technical updates from the industry’s supply chain and keynote presentations from leading figures from the wider manufacturing sector.

Tim Andrews from the MTC – Manufacturing Technology Centre, will speak about digitalisation and productivity gains, with some industry specific case studies including Phil Rawnson of MRT Castings Ltd;

Lawrence Davies MBE from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will discuss the new opportunities in the automotive industry and Rachel Eade MBE will focus on the drivers of change for the supply chain serving the wider transport sector, a very important market for the UK castings industry.

Pam Murrell, CEO of the Cast Metals Federation which is organising the event, said “I hope that the programme will be of interest, particularly when combined with the opportunity to visit the exhibition and meet with colleagues from the UK industry throughout the event. We have a great venue, due to our partnership with the team at Cranfield University, and the Vincent Building is a well-equipped and modern location for the industry to meet, with on-site hotel accommodation and free parking available for our delegates.

“Bookings are already very good, and delegate prices for a have, once again, been kept as low as possible; there are even some free places for apprentices (available on a first come, first served basis thanks to the support of the Tor Lodge & Applecross Trust). We are looking forward to a great event.”
