Precision laser cutting specialist FC Laser has installed a new 10kW Bystronic fibre optic laser centre to help boost productivity and edge ahead of the competition.

The new machine is capable of cutting materials as thick as 30mm with incredible accuracy and because it's 40% more energy efficient than its predecessor, FC Laser will be able to boost its productivity while reducing its energy costs.

Steve Connolly, general manager, FC Laser: "Speed, accuracy, quality and maximum uptime - the new Bystronic machine is literally at the cutting edge of laser technology and it is so easy to use."

He adds: "When the other two machines are installed we will be in our best position yet to meet the requirements and demands of our expanding customer base."

In order to fulfil this increased productivity, the company, which celebrates its fifth birthday in early June, has taken on an undergraduate on a 12-month internship.

Swarrendeep Samr's main responsibility will be to get the absolute best productivity levels out of the Swiss-made machine and the two more that will follow.

As an in-house specialist capable of maximising what the fibre optic lasers can achieve, FC Laser intends to edge even further ahead of its nearest competitors.

FC Laser recently announced a record year with 30% growth in 12 months and a move planned for 2018 to a new 20,000 sq ft factory.
