Global manufacturing boost

Expromet Technologies Group is opening a new base in the Philippines to offer customers extended sourcing solutions, inventory management, faster delivery times and local precision CNC machining capability.

Expromet Group companies provide UK-manufactured precision casting and machining solutions alongside extensive supply chain partnerships with global manufacturers. Global economic, political and social considerations now make it more important than ever to offer our customers an increasingly wide range of sourcing options.

Expromet Asia Inc will initially provide a new logistics and inventory call-off facility. CEO Robert Guest confirms this is part of the group’s drive to optimise Expromet’s end-to-end supply chain from trusted manufacturers:

“Expromet’s increased presence in Southeast Asia will enable us to reinforce existing supply routes and establish direct links with a more extensive manufacturing base, including select sources in India, Vietnam and Thailand. Local warehousing and call-off will further de-risk the supply chain for our customers, providing flexibility to accommodate changes in production schedules and deliver stock on demand.”

Expromet’s strategic base in the Philippines places Expromet closer to suppliers in Asia, enhancing options for sourcing the manufacture of components. Greater sourcing flexibility improves the range of manufacturing options available to customers, increasing security of supply for customers and minimising risk in the supply chain.

By managing inventory for customers, Expromet Asia can help reduce lead times. Production schedules can shift rapidly, and it is crucial for customers to have the necessary components on time. New inventory management capability in the Philippines, including an extensive warehousing and call-off facility, means that Expromet can act quickly and responsively to maintain the supply of finished products.

By reducing lead times and managing inventory, Expromet Asia can minimise downtime for customers and reduce costs associated with holding excess inventory.

In addition to the supply chain and logistics facility, Expromet is investing in CNC machining on-site in the Philippines, complementing the facilities available at Metaltech Precision in the UK.

This precision CNC machining capability in Southeast Asia will provide Expromet’s customers a competitive edge: delivering our expertise directly where it is needed; helping to optimise the speed and efficiency of Expromet’s worldwide manufacturing supply chain; and providing opportunities to eliminate tariffs and benefit from significantly lower costs.

Expromet Asia will ultimately provide an umbrella service that encompasses product development, sourcing and inventory management.

Expromet Asia Inc has now secured formal approval from the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry to establish business operations within the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). Expromet Asia Inc.’s premises in the Philippines are currently undergoing extensive refurbishment to provide a bespoke manufacturing and logistics facility.
