Cold forming and machining specialist, Dawson Shanahan Limited, is searching for candidates to join its expanding apprentice training programme at its dedicated training school.
Through the training programme, apprentices develop the skills, knowledge and experience required to accelerate their career in today’s fast-moving world of engineering. At the same time they earn nationally-recognised National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).
“The Dawson Shanahan apprentice training programme has gone from strength to strength and we’re now looking for new candidates to join us for the next academic year and begin their career in the exciting world of engineering,” said Ken Toop, senior process development engineer in charge of apprentice training at Dawson Shanahan.
The programme runs for between two to four years, depending on the qualifications candidates opt to pursue.
Apprentices work alongside experience engineers, on real projects, learning about both the theoretical and practical sides of engineering. This is combined with studying at local colleges, so apprentices can earn while they learn.
Mr Toop added: “The quality of our training programme has been proven year after year. Last month, our apprentice Niall Fry received his final Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Toolmaking. The team here at Dawson is delighted for Niall and we’re looking forward to watching his career progress.”
