FARO®, the world’s most trusted source for 3D measurement and imaging solutions for factory metrology, product design, construction BIM/CIM, public safety forensics and 3D machine vision solutions will be giving debuts to several advanced new products on stand F21 of the Advanced Engineering show, to be held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, from 31 October - 1 November.
FARO UK staff will be demonstrating the next generation of Laser Line Probes (LLP), the FARO PrizmTM. PrizmTM is the first LLP available that includes the ability to scan in high resolution, 3D colour. PrizmTM is designed specifically to operate as a compact, tightly integrated solution with the FARO Quantum ScanArm arm product family and extends the FARO tradition of delivering maximum measurement consistency for both direct-to-parts contact and non-contact requirements in every working environment.
PrizmTM has certified accuracy for the most demanding metrology challenges. The colour scan allows users to view and manipulate a detail rich, 3D color point cloud model of a part or assembly on a computer screen. This is ideally suited for molded parts where color and surface texture are an essential requirement of the complete inspection.
FARO will also be giving a UK exhibition debut to the 6Probe, a fully integrated hand-held probe that enables the easy probing of hidden, hard-to-reach features in difficult to access locations. Together, the TrackArm super 6DoF and the 6Probe offer the most complete solution portfolio at an unbeatable price for every measurement need, large and small. This new functionality addresses a wide range of large scale metrology applications across a variety of manufacturing focused industries including automotive, aerospace, construction, heavy equipment and shipbuilding.
Also making a bow at the Advanced Engineering show will be FARO’s QuantumS . Certified to ISO 10360 -12:2016, the most rigorous international measurement quality standard in existence, the QuantumS sets new standards in Articulated Arm Coordinate Measuring performance and durability. With the addition of the FAROBluTM Laser Line Probe HD, the QuantumS continues the FARO tradition of delivering maximum measurement consistency for both direct-to-parts contact and non-contact requirements in every working environment. The innovative FARO device enables users to capture more, richer detail faster than any other comparable product on the market.
Last but not least, FARO staff will be putting the new FARO 8-Axis FaroArm® system through its paces. This comprehensive, solution combines either the portable Quantum FaroArm®, Quantum ScanArm or Design ScanArm® portfolio products with a functionally integrated, yet physically separate, 8th axis.
The 8th axis is a complete rotational axis identical to and a natural extension of all FaroArm® products. It plugs directly into the FaroArm® and results in a seamlessly integrated, high accuracy additional axis that requires no additional setup time or effort. Moreover, unlike a turntable, the 8th axis is completely transparent to the measurement software, so no software updates or upgrades are needed.
This innovative functionality enables the part to be rotated in real time relative to the Arm versus requiring the Arm to be moved around the part. As a result, it is not only easier to scan and measure typically harder to reach areas, but also both measurement time and human measurement error are dramatically reduced since the part itself rests on a stable, consistent platform.
