New generation cutting fluid from Master Fluid Solutions ideal for crankshafts

Although the latest addition to the Master Fluid Solutions range of metalworking fluids is not unique, its characteristics put it in a class of products with very few competitors.  This new concentrate, TRIM® C274, demonstrates how the company is now achieving greater bio-stability from its formaldehyde donor- and boron-free technology as well as adding new capabilities.

The new product is part of the TRIM® C270 family of high performance synthetic cutting and grinding fluids that have become the preferred choice of many manufacturers worldwide. TRIM® C274 is ideal where high coolant velocities or volumes are necessary to achieve maximum productivity.

A key characteristic of this new formulation is extremely low foam, making it particularly suited to high flowing grinding applications, typically found in the production of cam and crankshafts for agricultural and commercial vehicles. It is designed to have the superior cooling and chip setting characteristics of a premium synthetic product with the improved residues and the mechanical lubricity of a semi-synthetic.

TRIM® C274 is an excellent choice for ferrous and exotic steel alloys.  It also protects machine and tool surfaces while preventing sticky ways, chucks, toolholders and fixtures.

Notably, TRIM® C274 requires no additives to control bacteria growth, a benefit that became clear to a European manufacturer of crankshafts during initial product trials.  It used TRIM® C274 in a Iarge central system and even after one year, the company confirmed no deterioration in bio-stability.
