News from TRUMPF : 16kW laser cell open day at the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre

16kW LASER CELL OPEN DAY

Tuesday 2nd October 2018, Nuclear AMRC,

Advanced Manufacturing Park, Brunel Way, Catcliffe S60 5TZ

The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC), Cyan Tec Systems and TRUMPF are inviting industry to discover the latest advances in welding technology and explore a state-of-the-art 16kW laser cell.

The Centre is leading research in high-performance welding techniques for the most demanding industries including nuclear, marine and aerospace.  The laser cell in which it has invested was designed and built by specialist systems’ integrator, Cyan Tec Systems, and is already driving cutting-edge projects for the nuclear industry.

At its heart is a TRUMPF 16kW disk laser system, the most powerful of its kind in the UK, which minimises heat distortion and thermal stress to achieve high quality welds for stainless steel, aluminium, titanium and alloys.

On Tuesday 2nd October Nuclear AMRC and its associates in this project are staging an open day at the Centre to allow UK manufacturers to explore the potential of this technology.  It will benefit any manufacturer considering the incorporation of advanced laser solutions into production lines as well as decommissioning organisations who could benefit from these advances.

Delegates can choose to attend either a morning or afternoon session both of which have the same schedule of events.
