Qimtek CMI results mirror CIPS UK Manufacturing PMI

The 2017 Qimtek CMI results show that to date, it is following the same trajectory as the CIPS UK Manufacturing PMI.

Due to an increase in subcontract projects across the board – and most notably, fabrication – the Qimtek CMI Report shows the exact same rise as the CIPS UK Manufacturing PMI as we approach the end of the year. This is in line with mostly mirrored results throughout the latter half of 2017.

Both reports tangibly measure the UK manufacturing market and provide insight into its growth. Here at Qimtek, we have seen the fabrication market catch up with that of machining, as well as an elevation in electronics projects and complete manufacture. The large outsourcing spends of manufacturing purchasers has also contributed towards the upwards trend, with one buyer spending over £8million annually on subcontract electronics processes alone.

These factors pave the way for a positive transition into 2018 and we look forward to publishing our comprehensive results once the fourth quarter draws to a close.
