UK debut for new TRUMPF 3D printer at TCT SHOW 2018
25th – 27th September 2018, NEC
Stand: N44
Laser and laser system manufacturer TRUMPF raises the bar on 3D printing speed and flexibility with its TruPrint 3000 which will be now shown for the first time in the UK.
For anyone requiring a 3D printer for large-scale production of complex metal parts, the machine offers a building volume of Ø 300 x 400 mm. It features an ingenious interchangeable cylinder concept which reduces setup times, increases productivity and machine utilization rate.
Since the TruPrint 3000 is equipped with two supply cylinders, up to 75 litres of powder is available for each job, which is around two and a half times the construction volume. This is sufficient powder to complete an entire manufacturing process without having to stop for refilling.
Visitors can experience the whole additive process chain which starts by creating a part with the TruTops Print with Siemens NX 3D design and production software. This is the first comprehensive software solution with a standardized user interface across systems. Additional to the machine systems TRUMPF industry-ready part and powder management enables setup and powder removal on one or more machines, all parallel to production. Smart monitoring solutions and comprehensive services are also part of the additive process chain.
For the generative production of small industrial single parts and batches of smaller parts TRUMPF shows its TruPrint 1000 with multilaser. Its laser sources work in tandem to create any shape of component by layering metal powder. The system can generate up to 80% more parts than the standard model and pure processing time is cut by almost half.
The TruPrint 1000 is ideal for producing parts that are complex in their geometry, such as those with internal channels and hollow spaces and for the economical manufacture of individual parts or short production runs e.g. in the field of dental applications. It is suitable both for novices and those experienced in using this technology offering a building volume of Ø 100 x 100 mm.
Depending on the part in question, it may be made from any weldable material in powder form such as steel, nickel-based alloys, titanium or aluminium. The Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) technology offers benefits for various industries, such as aerospace, mould and die, automotive, medical or dental.
Another additive manufacturing method which TRUMPF presents is called Laser Metal Deposition (LMD). It can be used for coating and repair purposes, to generate entire components and for joining processes such as bridging gaps. In the field of additive manufacturing, it is also ideal for generating entire components and combining different manufacturing methods.
