Southern Manufacturing returns to Farnborough for 2022

Qimtek is pleased to announce that Southern Manufacturing & Electronics will be making a welcome return to Farnborough from February 8th to 10th 2022.

As the UK's largest regional show dedicated to engineering and manufacturing, Southern Manufacturing has always been a firm favourite amongst Qimtek and its supplier members. As a tried-and-tested event within our locale, previous shows have provided our network with an unprecedented amount of sales leads and manufacturing opportunities, bringing us back to Southern Manufacturing year after year.

Southern Manufacturing 2020 was one of the last trade events to take place before the pandemic hit, and despite all the damage wrought on the manufacturing sector over the subsequent 20 months, the show and many of its long-standing supporters are showing strong signs of recovery. The show’s organisers report a healthy uptake in stand bookings from firms eager to return to face-to-face business. Many of the show’s regular participants have already confirmed for 2022, bringing with them a wide range of products and services, ranging from high-tech machine tools and automation to mechanical and electronics components, electronics production, additive manufacturing and subcontract services. Firms from all around the UK will be participating, along with a sizeable selection of off-shore exhibitors from around Europe, Asia and the Far East.

Split roughly equally between manufacturing and electronics production, the show features a broad range of companies, both large and small, with major international brands sharing space with smaller specialist firms. Not surprisingly given the location, Aerospace-related production hardware and engineering services features prominently in the line-up, but the show’s extremely diverse portfolio ensures the event has very wide appeal across the whole spectrum of high-tech manufacturing and production that is located in its Southern England catchment area. Nearly 9,000 visitors attended the pre-pandemic event, making it one of the biggest annual engineering shows in the UK.

Together with the exhibition and demo areas, the free seminar programme will return for 2022 in a socially-distanced format. Subjects discussed include energy reduction, new technology, innovation, supply chain & business strategy and an overview of current industrial law and post Brexit regulations.

Naturally, safety is the top priority for both visitors and exhibitors. The organisers have been working closely with the venue management team at Farnborough to ensure that all possible measures are in place to create as safe an environment as possible. Farnborough International Exhibition Centre is one of Europe’s newest exhibition venues. Its ventilation system provides filtered fresh air throughout the main hall, with additional air monitor sensors in function areas that automatically increase ventilation rate if air quality falls below acceptable levels. This, combined with its non-urban location and ease of access by private transport, make it a relatively low-risk environment.

There is complimentary car parking for 3,500 vehicles and the site is well-served by road and public transport links. A regular free shuttle bus service operates from both of Farnborough’s mainline railway stations directly to the exhibition. The venue itself provides a high standard of facilities including a complimentary WiFi service as well as high quality catering outlets.

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2022 opens from February 8th to 10th. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge. More information and tickets are available from www.industrysouth.co.uk
