About Hocklynn Ltd
Hocklynn is a Bristol-based sheet metal fabrication subcontractor working with OEMs and engineering buyers across the UK. We produce precision parts and assemblies from one-off prototypes through to repeatable batch volumes, with CNC laser cutting, CNC press brake forming, fastener insertion, welding, assembly and powder coating as the core of our process chain.
The business has been fabricating in Bristol for 50 years, building deep sheet metal expertise that we put to work for our customers every day. If you are developing a new product, part or assembly, talk to us early. We will help you engineer cost and risk out of the design before the first sheet is cut, with practical DFM feedback drawn from decades on the shop floor.

Manufacturing Services
We offer a complete sheet metal fabrication service, taking parts from raw sheet through to finished, coated and assembled products ready to fit:
- Design review. Every job starts with our engineers reviewing your drawings or models. We look at manufacturability, material choice, tolerances and joining methods, and feed back any changes that will simplify fabrication, reduce cost or remove risk before the first sheet is cut.
- CNC laser cutting of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium across our standard sheet sizes and gauge range.
- CNC press brake forming, including complex multi-bend parts and tight tolerance work.
- Rolling of sheet and plate to produce cylinders, cones and curved sections.
- MIG, TIG, spot and stud welding of steel, stainless and aluminium, with welder qualifications to suit your specification.
- Fastener insertion using our Haeger 618 MSP 5E for studs, standoffs, nuts and self-clinching fasteners.
- Finishing, including deburring, fine bead blasting, polishing, graining, engraving and part marking.
- Powder coating in a full range of RAL colours and standard finishes.
- Assembly and sub-assembly, including riveting, fastening, and light mechanical and electrical build.
Typical work includes enclosures, brackets, chassis, panels, frames and bespoke fabricated assemblies. We support customers from concept and prototype through to ongoing production.
Equipment
Our shop floor combines CNC cutting and forming with experienced welding, hardware insertion, finishing and inspection.
Cutting
- CNC fibre laser, 3070 × 1550 mm bed
- Maximum thicknesses: mild steel 16 mm, stainless 10 mm, aluminium 8 mm, brass 5 mm, titanium 5 mm, copper 4 mm
Forming
- LVD 8-axis Easy-Form CNC press brakes, up to 110 tonnes pressing force and 3 metres bending length
- Laser-controlled adaptive bending for guaranteed angle accuracy across full batches
- Hydraulic rollers for cylinders, cones and curved sections
Welding
- MIG, TIG, spot and stud welding bays for steel, stainless and aluminium
Hardware insertion
- Haeger 618 MSP 5E automatic fastener insertion machine for studs, standoffs, nuts and self-clinching fasteners
Finishing
- Bead blasting, polishing, graining, deburring, engraving and part marking
