Dyson Diecastings has enhanced its CNC machining capabilities with the addition of a further new FANUC machining centre.

Founded almost 100 years ago, the Milton Keynes based company initially started as a casting business before moving into adding simple operations such as drilling and tapping holes in its castings

Top 200 in Leicestershire

Leicester-based Nylacast, a manufacturer of engineered polymers and products, has  have been ranked for a third consecutive year as one of the top companies in the region, alongside Next, Walkers, Caterpillar and Leicester City Football Club.

Established in Leicester for over 50 years, Nylacast, has  recently invested in 120,000 square foot of premisesand now operates from two state of the art sites in Thurmaston. 

Finalists for MTA schools challenge

The finalists for the Manufacturing Technologies Association’s (MTA) flagship competition for schools, the Technology, Design and Innovation (TDI) Challenge, have been announced.

The finals returns to Yamakazi Mazak’s European headquarters in Worcester, on 4th July.

500 apprentices recruited

Stainless Metalcraft is celebrating a milestone in the company’s apprenticeship programme with its 500th apprentice being recruited in its September intake.

The company hosted a special event at its Chatteris factory announcing the forthcoming milestone and to celebrate final year students completing their five-year apprenticeships. Customers, businesses and local dignitaries were among guests attending the event.

IATF16949 for composites

Prodrive Composites has become the first UK carbon composites business to attain full certification against the newly released IATF 16949:2016 automotive standard.

IATF 16949 is the internationally recognised standard for quality in the automotive industry, developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which is made up of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.
