This business has grown progressively from the race track participation of the Munday family led by father Vincent who set up the firm 36 years ago and is now run on a day-by-day basis by his two sons Dan and Chris.

A new group has been created to provide SME representation into the Rail Industry Supply Goup, the Government supported body that aims to strengthen the capability and competitiveness of the UK rail supply chain to grow business at home and abroad.

The aim of the RSG SME Council is to promote and optimise the contribution by SME’s to the UK Rail Industry.

The group is made up of SME members who supply (or want to supply) into the rail sector and includes representatives from across all functions supporting rail and its requirements.

Forgemasters back in offshore business

Sheffield Forgemasters wins early offshore contract

Sheffield Forgemasters has won a £5.5m contract with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the first major offshore oil industry development in two years.

The company’s offshore oil & gas specialist, Vulcan SFM, secured the contract to supply 73 steel castings ranging from 0.5 tonnes to 19.5 tonnes, for a semi-submersible oil platform, the hull of which is being built in Korea by SHI for operation in a Gulf of Mexico oilfield.

One of the UK’s leading subcontract machinists is celebrating its 90th birthday in style after securing a string of new contracts and creating 15 jobs.

Muller Holdings, which has sites in Cleobury Mortimer, Redditch, South Wales and Wednesbury, has landed an additional £500,000 of sales to mark its big anniversary, including work for automotive, smart gas meters and producing parts for the ‘GripIt’ building product.
