Buy in to boost PP to £40m

Ardenton Capital has taken a majority stake in outsourced manufacturing specialist PP Control & Automation. The deal is set to take the West Midlands company to a £40m turnover within five years.

Current Managing Director Tony Hague has become a significant shareholder in the business as part of the deal and will become Chief Executive Officer, whilst founder David Fox will continue to impart his 40+ years of industry experience in the role of Chairman.

Nordell, a Worthing-based Plastic Injection Moulding and Extrusion company, has made a series of new appointments to oversee its range of clients in industries such as electronics, medical devices, consumer goods, industrial, and mechanical.  

In this, its 50th year in business, Nordell has appointed Teresa Blackman to help oversee the Customer Care team; Zoltan Meszaros arrives as a new Moulding Development Engineer; and Jason Munday is the company’s new Quality Development Engineer.

Baylis Automotive, a West Midlands manufacturer of metal pressings and welded assemblies is celebrating after securing a clutch of new orders, helping it achieve 25% annual growth in the process.

The company, which employs 60 people at its 65,000 sq ft facility in Smethwick, has won a number of contracts to supply seating and HVAC components for the agricultural sector, taking turnover to £5m.

The company is now targeting further expansion and has joined forces with Control Energy Costs (CEC) to help it manage its energy more efficiently as it looks to increase capacity.

The recovery in the watchmaking and jewellery industries saw  the 17th EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show at Palexpo in Geneva achieve 20,000 visitors from Switzerland and beyond.

 “One of the main successes of the 2018 event is what exhibitors have told us about the quality of the international and Swiss visitors present at Palexpo,” explains Alexandre Catton, Director of the trade show. “This has translated into a very high volume of business deals that have been concluded or are ready to be signed in the near future.”
